Firefly Cinema Poster and Logo Contest

Firefly Cinema has been operating as such in Zipolite for 6 ‘seasons’ now. We have been called a cultural centre, a bar and of course a cinema. We play all sorts of movies from around the world. We welcome musicians and we have been honoured by a selection of artists that have painted our murals inside and outside our space. Our ‘Zipolite the Movie’ Poster Contest produced some fantastic pieces that we are very proud to continue displaying at the cinema. The idea with this poster contest is simply allow the word ‘Firefly’ to inspire you. There is a story about the selection of the name but it is not important for the creation of this years poster and logo. These two pieces (poster and logo) will be featured throughout the year on cinema related promotional material.  Please follow the guidelines so your work will not be disqualified from the prizes.

September 6 through October 6, 2021 (Deadline: Midnight October 6, 2021)

Entry: $100 pesos (helps to cover cost of printing poster for display and the awards)

Guaranteed Prizes: $300, $200 & $100 pesos

Guaranteed: printing and display at Firefly Cinema, Cine Luciernaga, Zipolite with full credit to each artist/participant. Scheduled exhibition night (October 23, 2021).

Artwork will be offered for printing on product (mugs, blankets, tote bags) for % of sales.

1. Logo is to be an element in the poster.

2. ‘Firefly Cinema, Cine Luciernaga, Zipolite’ is to be on the poster partially or in totality.

3. Final poster dimensions will be: 1 m X .7 m , submitted artwork must be of satisfactory quality for those dimensions.

4. The logo may be any shape desired (circle, square, etc) suitable for use on webpages, printed material, etc.

5. Submitted before midnight October 6, 2021 to be eligible for the prize money.

6. Management reserves the right to disqualify or limit the entry for inappropriate content, possible copyright or trademark infringement, etc.

7. You acknowledge that submitted material will be used by Firefly Cinema, Cine Luciernaga, ZIpolite for promotion, etc.

8. International entries are welcome. Artists are encouraged to be present for the exhibition but it is not necessary.

9. Entries and fees can be submitted in person or via email.
